SHORT TERM COURSES

ANCHORING AND REPORTING

 

Duration: 7 months (5 months class room training and 2 months internship)

ELIGIBILITY: Graduation

Course Details:

Anchoring & Reporting is a five month programme which is targeted to groom a student as a news and entertainment anchors. However, the focus remains on teaching the nuances of anchoring and reporting.

Course Highlights:

In this short term course, students are trained in reporting and news writing, anchoring of programmes, voice-modulation, dressing, makeup and overall presentation.

POST PRODUCTION AND VIDEO EDITING

 

Duration: 7 months (5 months class room and lab training and 2 months internship)

ELIGIBILITY: 10+2

Course Details:

Diploma in Video Editing & Graphics is a 9 months programme which takes up editing as part of the wholesome process of production. The focus is on video editing and graphics designing.

Course Highlights:

As part of this short term programme the students are imparted training in technical and aesthetic aspects of video editing, covering both news and entertainment.

CAMERA AND LIGHTING

 

Duration: 7 months (5 months class room and lab training and 2 months internship)

ELIGIBILITY: 10+2

Course Details:

This course would train students in all the basics of professional video camera, techniques and operations, basic and advance lighting, composition, use of lens and filters, shooting for news gathering, single & multi camera set ups. The students would learn, through a systematic teaching pattern. The students will be attached with News 24 camera teams for on air television programmes.

Course Highlights:

Single, Double & Multi camera techniques are exposed to the students. They get a hands-on practical knowledge of basic digital cameras like PD 150, PD 170, DVC Pro, DSR, P2 and Beta Cam also. Students also get a walkthrough of the virtual studio of News24 channel where they get an experience of professionally advanced cameras with remote operation.

RADIO PRODUCTION AND JOCKEYING

 

Duration: 7 months (5 months class room and lab training and 2 months internship)

ELIGIBILITY: Graduation

Course Details:

The seven months short term course in Radio Production & Jockeying will be a crash course exposing students to the broadcast industry, technical and creative aspects of radio programming and a thorough training in radio jockeying. The focus would be on the writing and presentation of live compering for radio, voice modulation and comperring for various genres. Basic overview of the sound software would also be given.

Course Highlights:

A comprehensive crash course in Radio Production & Jockeying which focuses on the important technical and performance based elements like speaking skills, voice modulation, script writing for shows, jingles, promos, sound editing and various aspects of radio management.
