GYAN AND FUN MEDIA FEST MANTHAN
MANTHAN 2013 was formally inaugurated on 7th of March, 2013, by Ms. Anurradha Prasad, CMD BAG Network and with an august panel of media stalwarts like Mr. Tripurari Sharan, Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai and Mr. Alok Mehta. Around 400 students from various media institutes of Delhi and NCR participated on the very first day. The festival started with an inaugural dance by students of ISOMES – Ms. Astha Mishra of BMC – IInd Year and Ms. Suryanshi Chauhan of MMC – Ist Year. Thereafter, Prof. (Dr.) Ambrish Saxena, Director, ISOMES formally welcomed all the delegates and guests. An interactive session –
was held, wherein students and our guests participated with enthusiasm. Apart from the interactive session, the day also witnessed some other competitive events like Creative Writing, Anchor Hunt and Skit. Day 2 was another day of success with a gathering of more than 500 students and media fraternity. The Day II started with Writing to Visuals competition followed by an interactive session with showman Shubhash Ghai and Ms. Anurradha Prasad, CMD BAGNETWORK. The session was moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Ambrish Saxena, Director ISOMES. Post this session another thought provoking debate cum interactive session was set off by Mr. Arnab Goswami and Mr. Ashutosh. The debate was moderated by Mr. Ajit Anjum. The topic for this debate was “Should Editor be opinionated?” The audience had an interesting heart – to – heart question answer session with the panelist. The guests also gave away the prizes for competitions such as Piece-to-Camera, Anchor Hunt, AD Mad show, Creative Writing and Skit. Post lunch, it was time for some light events. The session started with RJ Hunt competition, where participants showcased their talents as Radio Jockeys. The glory of the media fest became more glitzy with the presence of Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and Actress Sonal Chauhan, who graced the fest for the promotion of their forthcoming film 3G. The main attractions were the day’s concluding events – the Group and Duo Dance competitions, which were a full house extravaganza. The students and guests were completely on the rocks with the performances of students. All good things have to finally come to an end. And that’s so with Manthan. The third and final day of the fest was full of fun, frolic and nostalgia that were witnessed by more than 700 students and stalwarts from media, film and theatre fraternity. The day started with STREET PLAY competition by various institutes and the prizes were given by Mr. Arvind Gaur – a renowned theatre director. The MEDIA QUIZ was another mind-boggling event where students were grilled with tough questions by the quiz master and various media personalities. This very day was made memorable by none other than filmmaker, music director and storyteller, Mr. Vishal Bhardwaj who along with Ms. Anurradha Prasad, CMD BAGNETWORK and Mr. Abhighyan Prakash, Executive Editor, NDTV had an interesting interactive session with the students. The finality of the event was Mr. Vishal Bhardwaj enthralling the audience with his mellifluous voice. The FILM FESTIVAL was another great event where the best judged films in the Short Film, Documentary and Fiction categories were screened. Mr. Vishal Bhardwaj also gave away the prizes of the film festival. The most awaited and the concluding event of the fest was the FASHION SHOW where students showcased various shades and colours of India in the most vibrant way. The evening was graced was graced by Mr. Rajiv Shukla, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, who turned youthful for a moment and shared a heartwarming experience with the students and also distributed the prizes for the FASHION SHOW and MR & MISS MANTHAN. After the formal events, the students put their foot down on the dance floor for the DJ Night to conclude the fest with the best spirit.
